Privacy Policy
arthuraddinall.com is a personal publication by Arthur Addinall. This policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit the site or contact me, and how it is handled. I aim to handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What information is collected
When you visit the site: like most websites, the hosting and security services automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly.
When you contact me: if you email me, I receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
The site does not currently use contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, advertising or visitor-tracking analytics.
Third-party services
The site relies on a small number of service providers: website hosting (Elementor) with security and content delivery (Cloudflare); fonts delivered by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google receives your IP address; and Google Search Console, which reports on how the site appears in Google search results but does not track individual visitors on this site. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Links to other websites, such as LinkedIn, are governed by those sites’ own privacy policies.
Cookies
The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting and security services may set small technical cookies needed to protect and deliver the site. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
How information is used and shared
Information you send me is used only to read and respond to your message. I do not sell personal information, and I do not share it with anyone other than the service providers described above, unless required or permitted by law.
Security and retention
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Emails are kept only for as long as they are reasonably needed.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct personal information I hold about you by emailing hello@arthuraddinall.com.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about privacy, please email hello@arthuraddinall.com and I will respond as soon as I can. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if a newsletter or other features are added. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
